GIRLS WHO ROCK, an annual benefit concert supporting girls’ education through She’s the First, wanted to expand its local Internet Week New York event into a national campaign. To engage supporters who couldn’t attend in person or watch via UStream, the team used CauseVox’s easy-to-use online fundraising and storytelling platform to launch its campaign.
CauseVox helped GIRLS WHO ROCK mobilize bloggers, YouTubers, and social media supporters with a shared “Class of 2011” community, downloadable campaign assets, and personal fundraising pages. The campaign raised more than $3,000 online and helped bring the total to $17,000 for education in Uganda, directly funding girls at Arlington Academy of Hope and supporting life-changing access to secondary school.
