eSight Raises Over $4 Million Through Peer-to-Peer To Prevent Blindness

eSight develops wearable technology that restores vision for people who are legally blind, but the high cost of the device created a major barrier to access. To achieve its Make Blindness History goal, the organization launched an Affordability Program and relied on peer-to-peer fundraising to raise awareness and help customers fund purchases, while also confronting challenges such as motivating introverted recipients to start fundraising.

eSight selected CauseVox for its simplicity, responsive support, and peer-to-peer functionality, using the platform to host central campaign pages, mentor fundraisers, and share stories with schools, clubs, and employers. The approach has driven strong results: as of June 2018 the Give Sight to the Legally Blind campaign raised $4,112,067 from 11,576 donors across 614 personal fundraisers, helping hundreds of people gain access to eSight.
