Casa Congo Uses Crowdfunding to Raise $20,000 for Conservation in Nicaragua

Casa Congo is a nonprofit that empowers local communities through conservation in Nicaragua and is building the School of Conservation — a community hub and Central America’s first 100% sustainable bamboo structure. To start construction they needed an additional $20,000 and needed a platform that would reach their international network, tell their story creatively, and simplify international payments.

They launched a three‑month CauseVox crowdfunding campaign managed by a 13‑person team, using professional video, personal outreach, peer‑to‑peer fundraising and active social media (nearly 4,000 followers). The campaign raised nearly $20,000 (about $19,190) with international donors and streamlined fundraising logistics, while keeping momentum through donor rewards and ongoing global engagement.
