A CauseVox Case Study
Bayshore Christian Ministries, a youth-development nonprofit in East Palo Alto, needed additional funding to sustain after-school Bible clubs, tutoring, and programs like First Lego League. For their 30th anniversary, Development Officer Heather Biscoe launched a 30-day “$30 for 30 years” campaign with a $10,000 target to keep these programs running and expand access to technology and life-skills training.
They used a peer-to-peer approach with 17 individual fundraisers supported by a social-media toolkit and storytelling guidance, focusing outreach on Facebook and email. The campaign raised $14,230 in 30 days—exceeding the goal—and delivered both financial support and a morale boost, with key takeaways about the power of personal stories, millennial/Gen X engagement, and the administrative work required to run online fundraisers.
