Bayshore Christian Ministries is a youth development organization that runs after-school Bible Club sites offering lessons, tutoring, meals and tech skills to children in East Palo Alto. Needing additional funding beyond traditional events for its 30th anniversary, development officer Heather Biscoe launched a first-time online appeal asking supporters to give $30 to sustain their programs.

Using CauseVox, Bayshore branded a “$30 for 30 Years” campaign with photos, videos and shareable personal/team fundraising pages; 17 supporters built their own pages and amplified the campaign via social media. The effort surpassed the $10,000 goal by 42%, raising $14,230, allowing Bayshore to continue its after-school programming and proving online crowdfunding easier than large events.
