Autism Science Foundation - Customer Case Study

The Autism Science Foundation (ASF), which funds and promotes autism research, was the beneficiary of a last‑minute fundraising effort by Rikki Cabler, a MechWarrior player who planned a 24‑hour livestream in memory of his father and to support his girlfriend’s son on the autism spectrum. The day before the event Rik realized he needed to change the charity and had no online donation setup—despite hoping to raise up to $2,000—so he faced the twin challenges of securing a nonprofit partner and a way to collect funds during an entirely in‑game livestream.

ASF connected with Rik hours before the event and used the CauseVox platform to rapidly create a central donation page, enabling real‑time contributions and easy social promotion. Community influencers amplified the campaign, and the livestream raised $8,271, funding multiple ASF mini‑grants; ASF now uses CauseVox for its annual year‑end campaign (about $80,000) and as an ongoing donation channel.
