Unmind, a Series B workplace mental health platform (≈150 people), was struggling with spreadsheet-based FP&A: the finance team — led by David Kay — spent 3 days a month consolidating actuals and rolling forecasts, generated manual reports for stakeholders, and lacked bandwidth for strategic work. They engaged Causal to automate modelling and reporting and replace their Excel operating model.

Causal implemented Unmind’s full financial model in about six weeks, linking live data from Xero (3 entities), HiBob and Google Sheets, adding Version Control, dynamic scenario modelling, and self‑serve dashboards. As a result, Causal helped Unmind put day-to-day FP&A on autopilot, saving 3–4 days per month, enabling faster reforecasting (what took a week in Excel can be done in a day or minutes), and giving stakeholders real-time access to KPIs used in board presentations.
