Topcon Achieves a Fast, Secure Global WAN with Cato

Topcon, a Tokyo-based global technology company with offices across the Americas, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, and China, needed a faster and more secure way to connect its worldwide locations. Its MPLS-based WAN was expensive and inconsistent in some regions, especially China, while VPN alternatives were slow and unreliable. Topcon turned to Cato Networks and its Cato SASE platform to find a single global network solution that could work across all regions.

Cato Networks implemented a cloud-native WAN with simple socket appliances, connecting Topcon to Cato’s global backbone and built-in security services. The result was fast, secure connectivity for offices and remote workers, improved performance in China and other non-MPLS regions, and easier operations for a small network team with no specialized knowledge required. Topcon also expanded Cato remote access to about 600 employees, quickly recovered a U.S. WAN connection impacted by wildfires, and was able to support work-from-home needs during Covid with minimal disruption.
