A Cato Networks Case Study
Sun Rich, a fresh‑cut fruit supplier with 150 users across four facilities, was struggling with rising WAN cost and complexity: expensive MPLS links, centralized Internet backhaul, poor RDP/file and printing performance, and difficulty connecting reliably to Azure and cloud apps. Attempts to fix the problem with standalone SD‑WAN appliances failed because erratic Internet routing prevented Sun Rich from eliminating MPLS, so they evaluated a cloud‑based alternative from Cato Networks (Cato Cloud).
Cato Networks delivered the Cato Cloud — an SLA‑backed global backbone with integrated security and optimization — replacing MPLS backhaul and multiple branch appliances while consolidating visibility and policy management into a single console. The change improved cloud and Azure performance (Cato PoPs colocated with Azure), reduced latency and packet loss, simplified troubleshooting and security, and cut WAN costs by eliminating costly appliance renewals and MPLS; Sun Rich’s dashboard even showed link rates up to about 95 Mbps as usage increased.
