Case Study: Standard Insurance achieves AWS cloud migration, simplified security, and 10x bandwidth with Cato Networks

A Cato Networks Case Study

Standard Insurance Uses Cato for Cloud Migration and Digital Transformation

Standard Insurance, a nationwide non-life insurer in the Philippines with 60 branches, 700+ dealers and about 1,500 associates, was migrating core insurance applications to AWS while struggling with aging on‑premise firewalls, low‑bandwidth telco IPVPNs and the operational burden of appliance patching. After two ransomware incidents and complex multi‑provider VPN management, Standard Insurance evaluated and selected Cato Networks and its cloud‑delivered networking/security service (using Cato Sockets for SD‑WAN and Cato MDR for managed detection).

Cato Networks replaced branch firewalls and IPVPNs with its global Cato backbone and Sockets, centralizing security policies, speeding cloud access to AWS, and offloading threat detection to Cato MDR. The solution cut security and appliance management costs by roughly half, increased Internet bandwidth at branches 10x without raising costs, enabled branch deployment in minutes, and simplified security and cloud connectivity for Standard Insurance’s migrated applications.
