Q-Park Teams with Cato to Connect and Secure 750 Car Parks

Q-Park, one of Europe’s leading parking operators, needed to modernize and secure its network after the WannaCry ransomware threat exposed the risks of its flat MPLS-based architecture. As it expanded its Parking-as-a-Smart Service (PaSS) model across hundreds of locations and cloud-based applications, Q-Park needed better segmentation, visibility, and protection for its parking facilities, payment systems, CCTV, and other connected assets. Cato Networks provided the Cato SASE Cloud Platform and edge Sockets to help address these challenges.

With Cato Networks, Q-Park connected and secured 750 car park facilities, replacing its MPLS hub-and-spoke approach with granular traffic segmentation, Zero Trust access controls, and centralized security logging into its SIEM. The result was a substantial reduction in ransomware risk, the ability to isolate sites quickly if malicious activity is detected, and much stronger overall security posture across the network. While ROI was difficult to quantify, Q-Park said the security improvements alone justified the investment.
