Geosyntec Connects 60+ Locations, Improves VoIP and Remote Access Punch with Cato Cloud

Geosyntec, an environmental engineering firm with 67 North American offices, faced poor voice/video quality, slow remote access to large GIS/CAD files, and VPN scalability limits while preparing to deploy Skype for Business and support widespread remote work. To solve these pain points, Geosyntec evaluated and selected Cato Networks, moving to Cato Cloud (Cato’s SASE platform) and planning use of Cato SDP/Cato Mobile Client and Cato Sockets to replace MPLS T1 circuits.

Cato Networks implemented a full MPLS-to-SASE migration, deploying Cato Sockets at branches and the Cato Mobile Client for remote users, and enabling Cato security services. The rollout connected 67 sites and more than 1,200 remote users to a single, managed network, replaced legacy 1.544 Mbps T1 links with much higher-speed circuits in the PoC (25 Mbps), eliminated VPN bottlenecks, and extended QoS to remote users; the mobile client was configured with SSO in about 30 minutes and users reported the best VPN experience they’d had.
