A Cato Networks Case Study
Blender, a peer-to-peer lending platform serving more than 10,000 clients, struggled with the complexity, cost and operational risk of a traditional on‑premises firewall appliance—management, patching and weekend outages from an unavailable integrator threatened uptime and growth as the company expanded to Italy and Lithuania. As a cloud-centric fintech that stores data in SaaS and IaaS, Blender needed a simpler, centrally managed security approach and evaluated cloud solutions such as Cato Networks.
Cato Networks replaced Blender’s perimeter appliances with a Cato Socket and the Cato Cloud, and deployed the Cato Client for mobile users; the zero‑touch sockets plugged in at new sites, traffic is encrypted to the Cato Cloud and inspected by a full security stack (NGFW, application control, URL filtering). The result: unified cloud policies across locations, avoided purchasing and managing extra DR appliances, tighter SaaS access controls via Cato’s IP‑range and device registration, easier global scaling, faster deployments to Italy and Lithuania and compliance with industry security audits.
