Case Study: Aquila (Melbourne-based footwear retailer) achieves reliable, secure connectivity across 60+ Australian locations with Cato Networks' Managed SD‑WAN

A Cato Networks Case Study

Preview of the Aquila Case Study

Aquila Connects 60+ Locations Across Australia with Cato’s Global Managed SD-WAN

Aquila, a Melbourne‑based premium footwear manufacturer and retailer with 60+ stores, warehouses and HQ connected to Azure, was struggling with an increasingly complex Internet‑based VPN. Manual site‑to‑site connections meant frequent downtime (about 30% of sites appeared offline at any time), poor visibility into encrypted web traffic, and weak URL filtering and security. Aquila turned to Cato Networks and its managed SD‑WAN (Cato Cloud) to address the scaling, reliability and security gaps.

Cato Networks deployed Cato Mobile Clients at small stores, agentless Azure integration via Cato PoPs, and centrally enforced NGFW and management through the Cato console, with Cato Sockets available for larger sites. The result: rapid, low‑effort deployment across 60+ locations, substantially improved uptime (the dashboard now normally shows all locations connected), automatic failover during line outages so inventory stays current, and restored visibility/control over web traffic for policy enforcement.
