Appliance Elimination Makes Security Simple

Love, Bonito, a fast‑growing Singapore fashion retailer, faced a deprecated network perimeter and the operational burden of maintaining UTM firewall appliances across its three offices and mobile/home users. Head of IT Wayne Khan wanted to simplify local infrastructure, avoid ongoing patching and appliance maintenance, and selected Cato Networks’ cloud service (Cato Cloud) to modernize security and connectivity.

Cato Networks deployed the Cato Cloud beginning with the main site and mobile users, activating its next‑generation firewall and URL filtering, using the Cato client/IPsec for remote access and a phased coexistence with the ERP firewall. The deployment reduced appliance maintenance, enabled selective, centralized security policies, secured mobile and home users, and positioned Love, Bonito to migrate AWS and eliminate the remaining firewall — with application usage reflecting a productivity‑centric environment (Google 49.2%, Gmail 13.3%, Dropbox 11.2%).
