A Cato Networks Case Study
AdRoll, a cloud‑centric marketing platform with about 500 employees, 350 contractors, and three datacenters in Amazon AWS, was struggling with traditional mobile VPNs. Contractors had to backhaul traffic to a San Francisco firewall, creating latency, a congested Internet link, no geo‑redundancy, cumbersome onboarding, and overly broad access that exposed internal resources. To address this, AdRoll selected Cato Networks and its Cato Cloud service (including the Cato mobile client).
Cato Networks implemented a global, SLA‑backed Cato Cloud backbone with a Cato‑initiated IPsec tunnel to AdRoll’s AWS datacenters so mobile users and cloud resources joined a single optimized network. The change eliminated the San Francisco chokepoint and reduced congestion, simplified onboarding to an invite/install workflow, delivered granular access controls and real‑time traffic visibility, and helped AdRoll win larger customers — a change its IT leadership says had a direct, measurable impact on the bottom line.
