nesseler Group revolutionizes laboratory Construction for University Hospital Cologne

The nesseler Group, a German construction company, sought to advance its digitalization strategy by implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM) to manage the flow of information across the entire building lifecycle. Its challenge was to find an open solution that ensured long-term data sovereignty and seamless integration for a major project: constructing a new laboratory building for the University Hospital Cologne. The company selected Catenda and its Common Data Environment platform, Catenda Hub, to serve as the foundation for this Open BIM approach.

Catenda provided an open platform that enabled clear project communication and integrated all work areas, including model checking software and document management. Using Catenda Hub, the nesseler Group successfully completed the five-story laboratory building, creating a highly detailed 3D model for planning and an As-Built model for future operation. The solution facilitated smooth onboarding for new employees and positioned the company to fully integrate building operations with Catenda's other software, Catenda Duo.
