Google Saves Time And Reduces Latency With Catchpoint

Google, one of the world’s largest enterprise technology companies, manages a vast set of digital properties that require continuous internal and external monitoring. They needed to collect, store, and analyze huge volumes of performance data in real time and over long periods, but REST API rate limits and the need to make data accessible across many teams made that difficult.

To solve this, Google used Catchpoint’s Test Data Webhook to push real-time test data (JSON/XML) to a Google App Engine endpoint, where it undergoes ETL and is stored in Cloud Bigtable for visualization in Data Studio and other tools. This architecture bypassed API limits, enabled rapid detection and resolution of issues (for example, pinpointing and fixing Google Public DNS latency in minutes), and provided long-term, company-wide access for post-mortems and analysis.
