A Catchpoint Case Study
BEM Systems is an environmental consulting, engineering, and information management firm that provides a web-based right-of-way and permitting management application, PAECETrak, to commercial and government clients nationwide. With users across the country, BEM needed synthetic monitoring to understand client access to the portal, document network availability, and quickly identify the root cause of connectivity and performance issues.
Partnering with Catchpoint and using Selenium scripting, BEM implemented regular synthetic tests that replicate user behavior, generate alerts, and provide waterfall analysis to isolate first- and third-party causes. The solution turned anecdotal complaints into data-driven diagnostics, enabling faster fixes (for example reallocating CPU and memory to address slow page loads), detailed historical logs, and ongoing availability monitoring to ensure consistent client access.
