Case Study: City of Baltimore builds a sustainable tech talent pipeline with Catalyte

Catalyte created local, more productive and lower cost tech talent pipeline for the City of Baltimore

The City of Baltimore needed an immediate and long-term supply of local tech talent to develop critical systems across multiple city agencies and modernize its IT infrastructure. To meet this challenge, the city partnered with vendor Catalyte to create a more productive and lower-cost tech talent pipeline.

Catalyte implemented a solution that involved immediately deploying its developers to work on critical applications while also creating a Technology and Software Development Fellowship program. This fellowship, developed with local partners, identified and trained undiscovered tech talent from within the city's residents. The results included strengthening the city's COVID-data tracking system, modernizing applications with an emphasis on security, and establishing a sustainable pipeline of high-performing tech talent for city agencies, creating equitable careers and improving community health outcomes.
