Case Study: ZEISS achieves successful randomized trial data capture with Castor EDC

A Castor EDC Case Study

Preview of the ZEISS Case Study

How ZEISS used Castor EDC to capture data on 101 subjects over the course of one weekend

ZEISS, formerly ianTECH Inc., is a U.S.-based medical device company developing ophthalmology technologies, including the miLOOP device for less invasive cataract removal. To support a randomized controlled trial across an international site in Panama, the team needed a simple way to randomize records and capture clinical data efficiently for the study.

Castor EDC provided the user-friendly electronic data capture platform, including randomization, archiving, verification, and monitoring tools, which allowed ZEISS to run the trial without heavy paperwork or bureaucracy. Castor EDC was deployed within days, and the team captured data from 101 subjects over one weekend, helping establish the safety and performance of miLOOP and supporting publication in the British Journal of Ophthalmology.
