Castor EDC Prompts Faster, Smarter, Medical Research at Radboudumc

Radboudumc, a leading university medical center in the Netherlands, was struggling with slow, costly, and error-prone research data management: their prior EDC required specialist support, manual data transfers risked mistakes, and poor standardization limited data reuse. To solve this, Radboudumc adopted Castor EDC, an online electronic data capture platform designed for medical research.

Castor EDC delivered a researcher-friendly, GCP- and 21 CFR Part 11–compliant platform plus central institute licensing, rapid customer support, training, and advanced features (field-level encryption and digital consent) that let researchers build studies without specialist help. As a result, the number of studies using Castor EDC at Radboudumc rose from 60 to 1,000 in two years, with 1,600 researchers on the platform—driving faster adoption, improved data quality, greater compliance and standardization, and lower support costs.
