OneAmerica counts on Castlight to reduce annual spend on healthcare

OneAmerica, a nationwide financial services company with about 1,500 employees, faced rapidly rising healthcare costs after replacing its PPO with three consumer-directed health plans (CDHPs). The challenge was to lower employer healthcare spend while rolling out the new plans with minimal employee disruption and maintaining a competitive benefits package.

OneAmerica deployed Castlight’s health benefits platform to integrate benefits, deliver personalized price and claims transparency, push cost-saving alerts, and tie in onsite clinic and wellness programs—backed by trained “super users” and a multimedia engagement campaign. The rollout exceeded registration goals (roughly 80–82% household registration, 40% spouse adoption, ~13 average page views per user), helped reduce annual healthcare spend, and resulted in no premium increases in 2015.
