A Castlight Health Case Study
Akamai, a leading cloud technology provider, launched its first biometric screening program in 2014 to boost healthy behaviors and awareness among employees, initially targeting its Cambridge and Santa Clara offices. The HR team found participation limited and identified three barriers: insufficient awareness, a cumbersome multi-step scheduling process, and weak motivation from a raffle-based reward.
In January 2015 Akamai implemented Jiff Incentives and integrated BioIQ and Maxim to create a seamless, single‑sign‑on workflow for registration, scheduling, results, and rewards; introduced personalized, point‑based incentives (1,250 points ≈ $50) redeemable in a unified rewards center; and ran targeted internal marketing (posters, email drip, push notifications). The combined approach increased biometric screening completion 2.5x, earned HR internal recognition, and strengthened Akamai’s culture of health.
