Case Study: Treasury.gov.au achieves information compliance and cloud uplift savings with Castlepoint Systems

A Castlepoint Systems Case Study

Preview of the Treasury.gov.au Case Study

How Castlepoint was used to achieve information compliance

Castlepoint Systems helped Treasury.gov.au, one of Australia’s largest Federal Government departments, tackle the challenge of controlling vast amounts of legacy information spread across multiple systems in its protected network. Treasury needed to understand the scope and volume of unstructured content on file shares and SharePoint so it could plan retention, disposal, preservation, and cloud migration activities more effectively.

Castlepoint Systems implemented Castlepoint on-premises to index, classify, and apply records rules across Treasury’s unstructured data, including tens of terabytes across 300 systems and more than 28 million items. The solution gave Treasury reporting, visualizations, and retention recommendations that supported information governance and executive decision-making, helped decommission a legacy EDRMS, reduced cloud uplift costs by identifying low-value content to exclude, and improved compliance and information management capability.
