Google Cloud cuts application modernization time by half with CAST software intelligence

Google Cloud, a global cloud platform, needed a faster, more accurate way to modernize customers’ custom applications because successful modernization depends on understanding application internals—not just infrastructure topology. Existing tools covered infrastructure but not the detailed software-level mapping, and manual analysis was slow, error-prone, and a bottleneck for modernization programs.

Google Cloud integrated CAST into its Rapid Migration Program (RaMP), using CAST Highlight for portfolio-level code insights and CAST Imaging to map application elements and relationships. This combination sped re-platforming, re-architecting, DB replacement, and monolith decomposition, helping a cohort of 35 clients shave 4–8 months off projects and cut overall modernization time by about 50%. RaMP now applies CAST across clients to automate migration, raise cloud maturity, and shorten time to value.
