CAST brings transparency and quality assurance to Spanish Social Services IT

The Social Security Services of Spain (GISS) manages IT for national social benefits, supporting 32,000 public employees and services used by 42 million citizens. Faced with strict data‑security and traceability regulations, rising costs from abandoned non‑compliant projects, and a rapidly growing, complex application portfolio, GISS needed greater transparency, standardized quality controls and technical‑debt reduction across its six development centers.

GISS implemented CAST’s Application Intelligence Platform (AIP) to standardize quality measurement, improve transparency into development and vendor work, and encourage reuse of components. As a result, GISS established 125 software quality indicators, automated quality assurance so 17% of projects now require only a single quality‑control cycle, cut lead time and improved development/maintenance efficiency by about 21%, and created a repeatable operating model for monitoring application health.
