Texas Tribune Builds Data Library Apps Using Caspio

Texas Tribune, an Austin-based non-profit news organization focused on state government and public policy, needed a way to publish large public datasets and deliver engaging web applications that inform readers and boost civic engagement. Their challenge was to make complex government data accessible, searchable and shareable while increasing site traffic and community interaction.

Using Caspio Bridge, Texas Tribune built a Data Library of more than a dozen database applications—such as Lowest Performing Schools, Partisan Rankings by District, a Campaign Finance Database, and a Government Employee Salaries app with 250,000+ records. The solution enabled interactive data exploration, easier downloads and embeddable apps for wider distribution, driving increased website traffic and deeper community engagement.
