Solar Enthusiasts Harness the Power of Cloud Apps

Hadley Price, an independent solar industry consultant and longtime Caspio user, was tasked with creating an affordable online network where homeowners, installers and solar advocates could find reputable contractors, share project details and replace paper-based energy reporting. Working first for Solar Oregon and later as Information Officer at Clean Energy Logistics Lab (CELL), he needed a scalable, low-cost solution that didn’t require custom programming.

Price built community portals and a nationwide “FindSolarPro” membership app on the Caspio cloud platform—converting annual paper reports to monthly online energy feeds, enabling Solar Ambassadors to publish profiles, photos and live meter data, and launching a group-discount program called “Solarize Now!”. The apps reduced development and operating costs by an estimated $100,000, allowed the project to scale from state to national reach, and increased engagement and access to vetted solar resources.
