Non-Profit JCIE Manages Japan Disaster Relief with Caspio

The Japan Center for International Exchange (JCIE/USA) is a U.S. affiliate of a Tokyo-based nonprofit that fosters U.S.-Japan dialogue and supports policy and civil-society work. After the 2011 earthquake and tsunami, JCIE/USA needed a centralized, searchable online repository to track and clarify nearly $1 billion in foreign aid but faced limited IT resources and a tight budget.

JCIE/USA selected Caspio for its ease of use and strong support, completed onboarding and used Caspio Professional Services to build a branded, searchable database. The result is a live repository of nearly 1,000 grants from 370 donors to 400 recipients—searchable by donor, recipient, grant type (13 types) and location across three Tohoku prefectures—with plans to expand user submissions and share best practices.
