A Caspio Case Study
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources, a state agency of about 1,500 employees, needed to publish public data online but faced tight budgets and high costs for programmers and outsourced hosting, which stalled many web projects. With limited staff time and taxpayer restraints, the agency sought a low-cost way to create searchable public applications without heavy development overhead.
By adopting Caspio’s no-code cloud platform, DNR staff used visual tools to build databases, forms and reports and deploy apps by embedding simple JavaScript—eliminating the need for dedicated programmers and most hosting fees. The agency deployed multiple public apps (oil and gas records, proposed rules, wildlife databases, invasive-species reporting) and estimates roughly $96,000 in annual hosting savings plus significant development labor reductions.
