A Health Insurance Company was using Netezza to aggregate and report on healthcare data, but its team faced slow, error-prone data movement, complex workflows, and months-long timelines for new reports and data source ingestion. The company also needed reliable tracking for regulated data flows and easier integration with Impala, prompting it to look to Cask Data and its CDAP platform, including Cask Hydrator.

Cask Data implemented Cask Hydrator to extract data from Netezza and other SQL sources, transform and join it, load it into HDFS, and generate final reports with automated tracking through Cask Tracker. The in-house team built and deployed a pipeline in less than a week, scheduled it to run daily, and gained better visibility into errors and data movement; new reporting requirements could be handled in weeks or days instead of months, and the company also saw reduced complexity and immediate access to ingested data in Impala.
