A customized Data Extraction and OCR solution for full automation of the Lockbox process

Alamo Group, a global manufacturer of infrastructure maintenance and agricultural equipment, was struggling to identify customer payments in its Lockbox process. Using JDE, the team had to manually review images, identify customers, assign them in the ERP system, and match open invoices by hand, creating a time-consuming process for a small cash application team. Cashbook provided a customized OCR and data extraction solution to help automate this workflow.

With Cashbook, Alamo Group automated Lockbox processing by using image-based customer identification, remittance templates, matching rules, and OCR to extract invoice data and auto-match receipts to open invoices. Cashbook also enabled remote updates to JDE through SQL Server integration. The result was full Lockbox automation, up to 95% invoice automation, hundreds of hours of manual work eliminated each year, and a reduction in the cash application team by one employee.
