A New Way to Increase Case Volume

Hudson Crossing Surgery Center, a Fort Lee, NJ ambulatory surgery center, faced inefficient, error-prone scheduling driven by phone, fax and siloed systems. To bring scheduling online and streamline coordination, the center implemented Casetabs’ cloud-based surgery coordination application to replace manual faxes and calls and create a secure, centralized scheduling hub.

Casetabs’ web-based solution was deployed in June 2017 and, within one month, drove measurable gains: 52 physicians using Casetabs produced about 28 additional cases per month (≈$47,000/month), 20 physicians not using it saw an 11-case monthly decline (≈$17,000 loss), and overall Hudson Crossing increased cases by 17 per month (≈$30,000/month). Physicians scheduling more than 50% of cases through Casetabs averaged a 2.16-case monthly increase, demonstrating Casetabs’ direct impact on case volume and revenue.
