Case Study: S&P Global achieves 87% faster testing of new research ideas with Caserta's Enterprise Data Catalog

A Caserta Case Study

Preview of the S&P Global Case Study

Testing new research ideas 87% faster

S&P Global, a leading provider of financial data and insight, faced fragmented data across five largely autonomous business units that limited visibility and reuse of data assets. The company engaged Caserta for Data Governance and to design an Enterprise Data Catalog solution (built on the open-source CKAN platform) to unify those units, democratize data, and enable analysts and researchers to find and share data across the organization.

Caserta implemented a CKAN-based Enterprise Data Catalog, developed a supporting metadata taxonomy and Google-like search, and enabled role-based access to tens of thousands of indexed datasets across all business units. As a result, S&P Global now has a single discovery portal that lets authorized users find and use data immediately, and testing new product and research ideas that previously took up to eight months can now be completed in about one month — a dramatic, measurable acceleration delivered by Caserta.
