SOMIC, a German manufacturer of custom packaging machines for the food and pharmaceutical industries, sought to optimize its complex, multi-step quotation process. The challenge was to improve the critical interface between its sales and engineering departments to increase efficiency. To address this, they selected the CPQ solution from vendor CAS Software.

The solution implemented was CAS Software's Merlin CPQ configurator. This intuitive tool allowed SOMIC to create error-free, updated machine proposals within minutes, eliminating media breaks and increasing process transparency and reproducibility. The vendor's solution also included an interface to layout software, enabling the creation of visual models for customers. As a result, SOMIC is now rolling out the CAS Software solution across its global sales departments and plans to further integrate it with its existing CAS CRM system to optimize internal workflows.
