Instacart used CARTO’s geospatial analysis tools to better understand site planning for retail and to overcome a conservative approach to connecting retailers with customers. The challenge was identifying where Instacart could expand more aggressively and reach new customer segments while improving the retailer mix available in the app.
With CARTO, Instacart analyzed store coverage and service geography to guide growth decisions and retailer expansion. The result was more customers trying Instacart because they could find preferred grocers, higher spending from both new and existing users, and incremental revenue for retailers by reaching entirely new customer bases.
