Endesa, part of the Enel Group and the largest electric utility in Spain serving 22 million customers, needed to improve site planning and demand modelling to grow market share and better serve B2C customers. Its Business Intelligence team was reliant on complex Excel models that were hard to share across departments, making it difficult to identify optimal locations for customer service centers, measure penetration against competitors, and inform marketing efforts.
By adopting CARTO’s Location Intelligence, Endesa combined internal supply-point and competitor data with external demographic datasets to power site selection, demand analysis and geomarketing. The platform democratized geospatial insight, halved time-to-insight, supported hundreds of new service points across eight cities, led to recommended new centers in the Levante and Balearic regions, and improved market-share growth and targeting precision.
