Moving to Omnichannel E-commerce Using Scalable Spatial Analytics

Allegro, Poland’s largest homegrown e-commerce marketplace with 22 million monthly users and over 135,000 merchants, set out to become an omnichannel retailer by building its own fulfillment, parcel-locker and last-mile delivery network (parcel lockers account for about 70% of deliveries in Poland). The company needed scalable spatial analytics to guide strategy, site selection and performance measurement but struggled with generic BI tools and no dedicated geospatial team, which made analysis slow and error-prone.

Allegro implemented CARTO’s Location Intelligence integrated with Google BigQuery to geocode and fuse internal delivery, locker and real-estate data with external sociodemographic, mobility and open-source datasets. The solution produced interactive dashboards and geospatial KPI reports, a site-selection app and spatial ML models to predict order volumes—enabling faster, data-driven expansion decisions, improved execution by the field team, and measurable progress across the network.
