Indoor Mapping & Airport Routing launched by Aena & Telefonica

AENA wanted to improve the passenger experience across its airport network by making indoor navigation easier in complex terminal environments. In collaboration with CARTO, along with Telefonica and Situm, AENA launched an indoor mapping and airport routing solution called AenaMaps, available through the AENA app and website.

CARTO helped deliver cartographic enrichment for the solution, enabling visual and voice-guided routes for passengers. The result was a live indoor navigation service already operational across Spain’s seven main airports, improving wayfinding for travelers on Android, iOS, and the web.
