Case Study: NYC accelerates emergency response analytics with CARTO

A CARTO Case Study

Preview of the NYC Case Study

Developing an Emergency Response Tool

NYC wanted to improve how it could analyze and visualize data quickly after disasters, especially following Hurricane Sandy. Using CARTO, the city needed an easier way to teach more analysts geospatial mapping and location analysis so they could move beyond tables and support emergency preparedness and response.

CARTO provided easy-to-use, fast, and flexible mapping and spatial analysis tools that analysts could learn quickly and share across the agency. As a result, NYC built broader analytics skills across the city, accelerated visualization and response work, and helped analysts who were used to tables become more effective with location-based insights.
