CARTO drives mobility planning for City of San Diego

The City of San Diego was looking for better ways to tackle major mobility, transit, and transportation planning challenges, including how to combine multiple location datasets and help transportation engineers make real-time decisions from current traffic conditions. The city used CARTO’s Traffico solution to better understand traffic patterns and support next-phase city planning.

CARTO implemented Traffico to monitor high-traffic intersections with traffic cameras and provide a high-level view of traffic across the city, with a long-term goal of adding traffic light locations and status data to refine signal timing. The result was stronger internal collaboration and more productive discussions with transit agencies and city traffic engineers, helping the City of San Diego move toward more informed traffic management.
