Relativity, a legal technology company, turned to Carta’s LLC platform after an investment from Silver Lake pushed it to modernize its equity program. The team needed a way to manage a complex employee equity structure across eight countries while maintaining consistent treatment for employees.

With Carta, Relativity was able to centralize reporting, improve data cleanliness, and make its equity processes more efficient. The company said distributing K-1s to employees is 2x as efficient as before, and that automatic 83(b) form creation and K-1 distribution cut the time spent on those tasks in half.
