Valor Ventures, a seed-stage firm focused on B2B software investments in the Southeast, had used Carta for fund administration since its first fund launched in 2017. As the firm grew to three funds, it needed a better way to manage portfolio reporting, cap table data, and audit preparation across its investments.

Using Carta’s Investor API, Valor connected Carta data to Salesforce and spreadsheet analysis so portfolio information updates automatically instead of being entered manually. Carta also made audit season easier by letting Jean-Luc VanHulst generate a single spreadsheet of all portfolio company cap tables automatically, while giving the auditor up-to-date digital copies and reducing the amount of manual work required.
