One Court Square Tower cuts energy costs by 20% with Carrier Global

The customer, One Court Square Tower in Long Island City, faced the challenge of modernizing its 50-story building with a state-of-the-art HVAC system. The goals were to significantly cut energy costs by up to 20% annually and improve air quality and comfort for occupants. Vendor Carrier Global, through its Carrier Commercial Service team, was engaged to provide an energy-efficient solution.

Carrier implemented a modernization solution featuring two AquaEdge 19XR-E Water-Cooled Centrifugal Chillers, variable frequency drives on pumps, and a Carrier i-Vu Building Automation System. The results exceeded targets, achieving projected annual savings of 4.4 million kWh and 766.9 kW during peak demand. The Carrier system also enabled better remote monitoring and secured an energy-efficiency rebate that was four times the project's out-of-pocket expense.
