Lorien Health Systems Teams With Carousel to Help Community Members Maximize Quality of Life

Lorien Health Systems, a healthcare provider operating 10 communities across Maryland, needed a more personal way to care for its fast-aging population while also addressing major IT challenges. The organization was struggling with slow or no access to digital records, dropped wireless signals, poor equipment synchronization, and growing pressure to support EHR and HIPAA requirements. Lorien partnered with Carousel Industries to help modernize its infrastructure and better support care delivery.

Carousel Industries assessed Lorien’s environment and identified issues with switching, wireless infrastructure, security, and carrier connectivity. The solution included Aruba HPE and Juniper switches, a new backup data center, dedicated fiber and carrier upgrades, improved wireless/Wi-Fi across all sites, and managed firewalls. As a result, Lorien achieved a fivefold increase in Internet speed, improved reliability and redundancy, secure WAN tunnels for privacy and compliance, and better bandwidth for future projects like AV, UC, and Voice.
