Elwyn Overcomes Classroom Collaboration Challenges With Avaya and Microsoft Lync Solutions

Elwyn, a nonprofit human services and educational institution serving people with intellectual and developmental challenges, needed to modernize its communications environment. Working with Carousel Industries, the organization set out to reduce telecommunications lease costs, improve collaboration for teachers and case workers, strengthen disaster recovery, and streamline its intake and support workflows.

Carousel Industries upgraded and expanded Elwyn’s Avaya infrastructure, added two new sites, and implemented Microsoft Exchange 2013 and Microsoft Lync 2013 to improve email capacity and collaboration. The vendor also deployed a new Avaya Aura contact center with NICE call recording and other voicemail solutions, supporting Elwyn’s crisis hotline and future growth with infrastructure sized for 1,000 handsets, 2,400 mailboxes, and a Lync pilot designed to scale to 1,500 users.
