Connecticut College Embraces Next-Generation Security With Help from Carousel

Connecticut College, an education institution in New London, Connecticut, was struggling with a legacy firewall that had begun to bottleneck network and system performance. The college worked with Carousel Industries to evaluate a modern security approach, ultimately identifying Fortinet’s FortiGate next-generation firewall as the best fit for its needs.

Carousel Industries deployed FortiGate to replace several on-premises components, including packet shapers and internal/external firewalls, helping reduce maintenance costs while improving intrusion detection, visibility, failover, and web filtering. The new solution blocked large volumes of bad traffic before they reached the network and drastically reduced malware tickets, while Carousel later extended its support with a Fractional CISO service that helped document procedures and strengthen Connecticut College’s security posture.
