UC Merced sought a digital signage solution to improve campus-wide communications after previous systems proved difficult to use and were abandoned due to a lack of vendor support. Their key challenges included finding user-friendly software with robust support, interoperability for emergency alerts and BrightSign players, and a system that would allow multiple departments to easily create and manage dynamic content. They selected the Carousel Cloud platform from vendor Carousel Digital Signage.

By implementing Carousel Digital Signage, UC Merced deployed a scalable network that now includes 55 screens across campus. The solution gave various departments the creative freedom to easily upload targeted content through a permission-based system, keeping communications fresh and engaging. The Carousel Digital Signage platform also provided native integration with BrightSign players for simplified deployment and clean integration with their existing Mersive Solstice and Zoom Room systems. The vendor's exceptional technical support and features like display stitching and channel duplication have been key to the project's success.
