Roanoke College powers hands-off dynamic display communication system with Carousel

Roanoke College needed an effective way to communicate its academic reputation and campus happenings to students and visitors within its high-traffic campus center. The challenge was to find a digital signage solution that could automate content from various web and social feeds without requiring significant additional staff workload. To address this, the college partnered with vendor Tightrope Media Systems to implement their Carousel digital signage system.

The solution from Tightrope Media Systems consisted of a Carousel server and media players driving a three-screen display, which dynamically showcased content from RSS feeds, social media, weather, and news. The implementation was a success, with the screens effectively engaging the campus community. The system also allowed content to be repurposed for the campus TV channel, and future plans included integration with emergency alerts. College officials were highly pleased with Tightrope's support and the system's performance.
